Happy National Smoothie Day! I’m celebrating by rounding up 10 High Protein Smoothies and Shakes that are perfect for staying cool and energized even on the hottest days of summer. If I’m working outside in the heat, a lot of times I don’t feel like eating a regular meal and will instead opt for a smoothie. They’re also great for breakfast on the go, pre/post workout snacks, or anytime you need a quick, healthy hunger killer.
Skip the morning blender:
Meal Prep Smoothie Cubes!
If you don’t want to bust out your blender every morning, just freeze your already blended smoothie into cubes, stick them in a to-go cup, and pour milk over them in the morning as soon as you wake up. Let them sit, stirring occasionally for about 30-40 minutes while you get ready and voila! Your smoothie is ready to take on the go without waking up the whole family.

I used my Souper Cubes cookie dough trays for this, but an easy-to-remove ice cube tray like this would work too.
