New recipe Wednesday is back with a fun one – a Cookie Monster Protein Shake! I love this one because it’s not only delicious, but it’s full of nostalgia (and protein too!). And let’s be honest, who doesn’t love cookies?!
The key to getting a fluffy, creamy protein shake is the type of protein powder you use. Casein is key here – whey just won’t give you the same volume and texture. If you don’t have casein protein powder or don’t want to use it, you can sub it out with vanilla pudding mix.
Want to get your cookies to stick to the rim of a mason jar? Just dip it in some melted, then partly cooled (but still smooth and pliable) white chocolate. If it seems like the chocolate is too runny and might drip down the jar, set the jar upside down on a little plate while the chocolate cools slightly (if your chocolate is runny, the cookies will fall right off). Then stick your cookies to the chocolate, and presto! Cookie rim jar.

- Substitutions: If you don’t have casein protein powder or don’t want to use it, sub it out with 1 1/2 tbsp vanilla pudding mix instead. Whey protein powder will not provide the same consistency as casein.
