Make use of that eggnog in your fridge with this ridiculously easy holiday twist on a classic – an Eggnog White Russian that only needs 3 ingredients. A standard White Russian recipe calls for a 2:1:1 ratio of vodka to coffee liqueur to heavy cream, but I changed things up a bit in my version because I wanted the eggnog flavors to stand out a bit more here. I initially tried it out with a full ounce of coffee liqueur, but found it to be too coffee forward that way, so I cut it down a bit. Of course, you can always add more vodka if you want it boozier, but I felt like these proportions were nicely balanced.

Ingredients and Substitutions
Here’s what you need to make this Eggnog White Russian recipe:
- Eggnog – I opted for this Organic Valley Reduct Fat Eggnog for something a little lighter, but regular eggnog will give you a creamier drink if that’s what you’re after.
- Vodka – A standard White Russian calls for a 2:1:1 ratio of vodka to coffee liqueur to heavy cream, but I wanted the eggnog flavors to stand out a bit more here without being too boozy.
- Coffee or espresso liqueur – Check out my recommendations below!
I like to garnish this with fresh grated nutmeg and a cinnamon stick for stirring and serving.

My recs for
Coffee Liqueur
I think people are most familiar with Kahlua, but IMO it’s a bit too sweet and doesn’t have the best coffee flavor. My personal favorite coffee liqueur is Caffe del Fuego, with St. George NOLA Coffee Liqueur coming in close second. Unfortunately Caffe del Fuego is somewhat of a local booze that I discovered when living in Texas and St. George’s can be hard to find in Virginia where I live now. Mr. Black Cold Brew Liqueur or Grind Espresso Shot Liqueur are both delicious options that are easier to find.
