Happy Cocktail Friday, my friends! These Yuzu Sake Mules are the perfect ode to spring with their bright, crisp citrus and ginger flavors. I found this bottle of Joto Yuzu Infused Sake at Wegmans and knew I had to create a delicious cocktail with it. If you’re not familiar with yuzu, it’s an Asian citrus fruit that’s tart and fragrant. The flavor is sort of a cross between a grapefruit, lemon, and mandarin orange, but this sake is described as having “the sweet and tart flavors of mandarin orange, Meyer lemon, and key lime.”

Typical Moscow Mules combine ginger beer, vodka, and lime juice, but I thought the yuzu flavor would work really nicely here too (and I wasn’t wrong!). I still included some vodka, but you could just use sake if you want to keep this drink super low ABV. Either way, it’s a delight! The ginger beer plays really nicely with the sake and depending how tart you want it, you can add even more than I did.

I couldn’t decide if I liked the white or yellow flowers better in these photos, but in the end I couldn’t really decide. What do you think?
Cheers!

Nutrition Information
For my macro trackers out there, I wasn’t able to create a My Fitness Pal barcode for this recipe since I would have had to decide for you whether to put the alcohol calories in as carbs or fats – that’s up to you! The 17 carbs listed here are from the sugar in the sake, ginger beer, and lemon juice. For my non-macro trackers, here’s more info on what I’m talking about.
