Looking for a higher protein dip to add to your Mother’s Day brunch or picnic menu? This Green Goddess Cottage Cheese Dip made with Breakstone’s cottage cheese is it! Summer entertaining doesn’t get any easier than this simple blender dip, a dreamy combo of feta whipped with cottage cheese and plenty of fresh summer herbs. And who doesn’t love getting an extra boost of protein in unexpected places?!

Cottage Cheese FTW
Cottage cheese may be having a multi-year moment right now, but I’ve loved it for many more years as an easy and versatile way to hit my protein goals. Breakstone’s is the perfect choice for all your cottage cheese creations – it’s made with high quality dairy and whips up into an ultra creamy consistency. As for the protein content, their 2% milk fat version boasts 13 grams of protein per 1/2 cup serving.
Large curd vs small curd – Breakstone’s offers their 2% cottage cheese in both large curd and small curd varieties. As you can see, I made mine with the large curd version, but either one will work. The smaller curd tends to have more liquid content, so your dip won’t be quite as thick – which is a good option if you want to use less olive oil. Either way, you can’t go wrong.

Ingredients and Substitutions
Here’s what you’ll need to recreate this Green Goddess Cottage Cheese Dip:
- Breakstone’s Cottage Cheese – Ultra creamy and delicious, I love the 2% fat version for this recipe, but fat free or 4% would work too.
- Feta cheese – I prefer the block style of feta that comes in brine for this recipe since the flavor is best when you crumble (or blend) it yourself.
- Fresh herbs – I used a combination of basil, parsley, chives, and dill, though you could mix this up if you prefer other herbs.
- Lemon juice – Lends some necessary acidity and liquid to help the dip blend smoothly.
- Honey – Just to take the edge off the savory flavors and make this dip more crave-worthy.
- Olive oil – Adjust how much you use as you blend – higher fat content cottage cheese will need less oil.
- Salt – Depending on what kind of feta you use, you may need to adjust the amount of salt to taste. I’d recommend starting with just a pinch and taste as you add.
- Garlic powder – I prefer powdered to fresh garlic for this recipe because a clove of garlic can quickly overpower the flavor of the herbs.

summer party Pairings:
Ultimate Crudité Platter
The best part about green goddess dips and dressings is that they never met a veggie they didn’t like 😉 Here are some ideas for veggies to include in your own crudité platter:
- Cucumbers
- Sugar snap peas
- Radishes
- Carrots
- Peppers
- Celery
- Crackers
- Tomatoes
- Olives

Party-Perfect Appetizers
Turn this dip and crudité into an easy individual appetizer that’s perfect for no-mess walking and talking. Add the dip into the bottom of a cup (these ones work great) and stick the veggies right in there. I like to use a piping bag or regular zip top bag to pipe the dip in for the cleanest results. This makes for gorgeous and easy grab-and-go apps that your guests will love!
