Spooky season is upon us and if you’re planning to host this Halloween, don’t sleep on a Build-Your-Own Dirt Pudding Cup Bar! I had so much fun finding all the goodies for this setup and who doesn’t love the most nostalgic Halloween dessert of them all?! Kids and adults alike will get a kick out of this setup and they’ll especially love that they can choose their own dirt cup adventure with toppings like classic gummy worms, googly eyes, fun sprinkles, and cookie gravestones.
If you’re hosting a big party, be sure to add some extras to this setup like an ice bucket to keep drinks cold and include other snacks like my Halloween Monster Munch or savory dips paired with chips, crackers, and veggies. If the dirt pudding cups will be sitting out for a while, you can keep them cold with a chilled party mat like this.

Here’s a preview of some items I used to set up my dirt cup bar with an awesome and spooky Halloween vibe. Click the link to get my full list and buy your own!

Dirt Cup Toppings
The possibilities are (almost) endless when it comes to dirt cup toppings! I personally think that gummy worms, extra crushed Oreos, sprinkles, and googly eyes are the absolute essentials. Aside from the what’s pictured here and linked below, Reese’s Pieces, Halloween themed M&Ms, and even caramel popcorn would be great topping options!
The sprinkles I used for my dirt cup bar are the Betty Crocker Halloween Fusion Sprinkle Mix, which I was able to buy in a small bag, but can only find a 26oz canister or 9oz jar online now. I’ve also seen it listed as the Halloween Ghostly Gathering Sprinkle Mix Baking Treasures Bake Shop. While you can find and order them online through retailers like Walmart, they’re not as readily available as the ones I linked below.
For the cookie gravestones, just grab a bag of Milano or Nutter Butter cookies and a tube of black icing, then write “RIP” on the tops of the cookies. And if you’re no good at decorating cookies like me – even better! Messy writing amps up the creepy vibes in this case 😉

Dirt Cup Bar Serving Essentials
While these things aren’t quite as fun as all the spooky decor, they are definitely essential to making your dirt cup bar a success. A tiered cupcake server works perfectly to create a fun display with the dirt pudding cups. I gotta say though, those shovel shaped spoons are *chef’s kiss*!
- Tiered server
- Consumables like shovel spoons, plastic cups, and napkins
- Spooky serve ware like ghost shaped candy bowls, spidery serving plates, and spooky glassware
- Tongs and spoons for dishing out toppings
- A big cauldron or Halloween ice bucket for beverages
