Good morning everyone! Happy hunger games.  And by hunger games, I mean it’s time for breakfast and I’m hungry 🙂  Here’s a quick and easy hot oatmeal recipe that takes about 5 minutes to whip up.  Of course I added some extra protein to it, which you won’t find in the instant oatmeal packets at the store.  Plus fresh apples always help!

I still made some eggs and sausage to serve on the side of this.  Gotta get that extra protein to keep me from getting hungry too soon! I have a feeling I’ll be making more recipes like this in a few weeks.  I’ve been told that June gloom in San Francisco is depressingly cold and foggy 🙁  I’m excited for the change though! Enjoy.

Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

Servings: 1 • Calories: 199 • Fat: 3 g • Protein: 12 g • Carbs: 31 g • Fiber: 5 g • Sugar: 10 g • Sodium: 135 mg • Cholesterol: 0 mg
 
Ingredients:
  • 1/3 cup quick oats
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • 1/2 small McIntosh apple
  • 1 tbsp Jay Robb’s Vanilla whey protein
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp Splenda brown sugar blend
Directions:
  1. Mix all ingredients in a microwave safe bowl.  Microwave for about 1 minute and 15 seconds, stirring halfway.
