Sometimes, you just feel like having a smoothie. Like when it’s 90 degrees in Texas and you just moved here from San Francisco where summer means cold bay breezes, excessive amounts of fog, and taking a jacket with you everywhere. Oh, but I miss it already 🙁 Before I get too nostalgic though, let me just say that this smoothie isn’t just any smoothie…it’s a STRAWBERRY banana smoothie bowl that helps mark the close of National Strawberry Month. A totally blog-worthy occasion indeed.
On top of this exciting, totally original smoothie bowl is some dragonfruit, which is purely for show because I think it’s just so damn pretty. It doesn’t taste like much but it’s fun to eat. And then of course some banana and coconut because there’s banana and coconut milk in the recipe. Finally, some flowers which are not at all edible. Oh and I added a raspberry on top for this one down below, because why not?
I hope everyone enjoys their Memorial Day weekend with some cool treats like this. And don’t forget what the holiday is all about – paying respects to those who have lost their lives in service to their country. If you’re crazy enough, try out The Murph Challenge this year. It’s an insane CrossFit Hero workout in honor of LT. Michael P. Murphy, a Navy SEAL and Medal of Honor recipient who died in Afghanistan in 2005. Read his story here and check out the movie Lone Survivor.
