Homemade Magic Shell Topping

- 12 oz chocolate chips (about 2 cups)
- 1/2 cup refined coconut oil measured when solid (180 mL)
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
Add chocolate chips and coconut oil to a medium, microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high for 30 seconds, then remove to stir. Repeat 1-2 more times until the chocolate is mostly melted. Carry over heat will fully melt any remaining bits as the chocolate is stirred.
Once the chocolate is fully melted, continue to whisk the mixture until the coconut oil is fully integrated with the chocolate. This may take another minute or so of whisking.
Pour over your favorite cold treat and enjoy!
Yield: The total recipe yield is 1 2/3 cups of magic shell.
Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 6 weeks. I prefer storing mine in a glass jar that can be reheated.
Reheating: If you store it in a glass jar, microwave the whole jar (minus the lid) for 30 seconds, then remove and stir. Depending how much is left in the jar, you may need to microwave for another 15-20 seconds to get it all smooth and melty again.
